About Us

Dreams Pursued Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in January 2020 to increase diversity in medicine so our profession appropriately represents the population it serves. One inhibitor to successful matriculation for minority students is the stifling expense of application fees, MCAT test preparation, and seat reservations. We hope to eliminate as many financial barriers to medical school as possible for African American, Latinx, and Native American students.

To help underrepresented pre-medical minority students successfully matriculate into medical school by providing scholarships, mentorship and fellowship.

Our Vision

To empower pre-medical minority students by eliminating barriers to success, celebrating achievements, and fueling ambitions, thereby creating a community that instills in its future doctors a sense of responsibility to successive generations. 

Objectives & Goals

• Encourage diversity in the medical profession by providing underrepresented minority students with resources to facilitate their entry into medical school.

• Provide scholarships to underrepresented minority students who require financial assistance to apply to medical school.

• Mentor underrepresented minority students to encourage their success.

• Celebrate the professional achievements of our awardees and mentees so they remain driven to succeed.

• Foster a sense of community that our awardees and mentees will build on for generations to come.
